Senna hits stray dog during GP2 race
Sunday, 11 May 2008
May 11 (GMM) Believe it or not, race control will be kept an eye out for stray dogs during the Turkish grand prix, following an incident in the GP2 race on Sunday.

The single seater driven by Bruno Senna, the nephew of the great triple world champion with the same surname, struck an Alsatian at the Istanbul Park circuit, raising questions about security at the otherwise impressive formula one venue, which is owned by F1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone.

Another stray dog crossed the circuit but was captured by marshals without incident.

The Senna incident, however, killed the other dog instantly, but luckily the 24-year-old - although clearly enraged - emerged unscathed, although he had to retire from the race with damaged suspension, bringing out the safety car.
