Every raceweekend scrutineering checks are being held, but what is really checked? You will be amazed at the amount of details the technical delegates are looking into! Here is a list that was revealed after the Turkish GP of 2007.

2007 TURKISH GRAND PRIX From : The FIA Formula One Technical Delegate To : The Stewards of the Meeting TECHNICAL DELEGATE’S REPORT Between 10.00 and 15.35 today the following cars underwent preliminary scrutineering: Car numbers Team 1, 2 and T car : Vodafone McLaren Mercedes 3, 4 and T car : ING Renault F1 Team 5, 6 and T car : Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro 7, 8 and T car : Honda Racing F1 Team 9, 10 and T car : BMW Sauber F1 Team 11, 12 and T car : Panasonic Toyota Racing 14, 15 and T car : Red Bull Racing 16, 17 and T car : AT & T Williams 18, 19 and T car : Scuderia Toro Rosso 22, 23 and T car : Super Aguri F1 Team All the above cars were found to be in conformity with the safety requirements of the 2007 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations. 2007 TURKISH GRAND PRIX From : The FIA Formula One Technical Delegate To : The Stewards of the Meeting TECHNICAL DELEGATE’S REPORT After the first free practice session: It was checked that all 22 cars did not exceed 19000 rpm during the first free practice session. The fuel pressure of all 22 cars during the first free practice session was checked. A fuel sample was taken from car number 16. After the second free practice session: The following cars were weighed: Number Car Driver 04 Renault Heikki Kovalainen 21 Spyker Ferrari Sakon Yamamoto Car numbers 04 and 21 were checked for the following: 1) Bodywork around the front wheels 2) Front wing height and overhang 3) Rear wing height and overhang 4) Front and rear wing width 5) Rear wing configuration 6) Rear bodywork area 7) Rear winglet height 8) Stepped bottom 9) Overall height 10) Overall width It was checked that car numbers 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 did not exceed 19000 rpm during the second free practice session. The fuel pressure of car numbers 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 during the second free practice session was checked. The tyres used by all drivers during the sessions today have been checked. A fuel sample was taken from car number 07. The results of fuel analyses show that the fuels were the same as ones, which had been approved for use by the relevant competitors prior to the Event. All the above items were found to be in conformity with 2007 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations. The front tyres from set 1612 allocated to car number 16 have been found to be not marked by the tyre supplier in accordance with Article 25.1 b) of the 2007 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulation. Car numbers 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09, 10, 12 and 16 were checked for the following: 1) Bodywork around the front wheels 2) Front wing height and overhang 3) Rear wing height and overhang 4) Front and rear wing width 5) Rear wing configuration 6) Rear bodywork area 7) Rear winglet height 8) Stepped bottom 9) Diffuser height 10) Diffuser width 11) Overall height 12) Overall width Ultrasonic thickness comparisons between the homologated side penetration panel and the car’s side wall have been carried out on car numbers 02, 05 and 10. Hardware identification checks have been carried out on car numbers 01, 02 and 05. Software version checks have been carried out on car numbers 01 and 02. Gear shift data checks have been carried out for car numbers 01, 02, 05, 06, 09, 10 and 21. It was checked that all 22 cars did not exceed 19000 rpm during the qualifying practice session. Fuel samples were taken from car numbers 05 and 12. All the fuel samples have been checked for density and analysed by gas chromatography. The results of fuel analyses show that the fuels were the same as ones, which had been approved for use by the relevant competitors prior to the Event. All the above items were found to be in conformity with 2007 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.

A fuel sample was taken from the refuelling rig of car numbers 03 and 22 analysed during the race. Software version checks have been carried out on car numbers 01 and 02. The start data of car numbers 01, 02, 05 and 06 have been checked. It was checked that car numbers 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 did not exceed 19000 rpm during the race. The fuel pressure of car numbers 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 during the race was checked. The data logger of the refuelling rig of car numbers 01 and 16 have been checked. The tyres used by all drivers during the sessions today have been checked. A fuel sample was taken from car numbers 01 and 09. The fuel samples have been checked for density and analysed by gas chromatography. All car weights and the items checked were found to be in conformity with the 2007 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
