Every raceweekend scrutineering checks are being held, but what is really checked? You will be amazed at the amount of details the technical delegates are looking into! Here is a list that was revealed after the Turkish GP of 2007.

The following drivers will start the twelth Event of the 2007 Formula One World Championship with a new

Between 10.00 and 15.35 today the following cars underwent preliminary scrutineering:

All the above cars were found to be in conformity with the safety requirements of the 2007 FIA Formula One
Technical Regulations.
The three cars of the Etihad Aldar Spyker F1 Team will undergo preliminary scrutineering tomorrow morning
before 09:45 Hours.

After the first free practice session:
It was checked that all 22 cars did not exceed 19000 rpm during the first free practice session.
The fuel pressure of all 22 cars during the first free practice session was checked.
A fuel sample was taken from car number 16.
After the second free practice session:
The following cars were weighed:

1) Bodywork around the front wheels
2) Front wing height and overhang
3) Rear wing height and overhang

7) Rear winglet height
8) Stepped bottom
9) Overall height
10) Overall width

It was checked that car numbers 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 did not exceed 19000 rpm during the second free
practice session.
The fuel pressure of car numbers 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 during the second free practice session was
checked.
The tyres used by all drivers during the sessions today have been checked.
A fuel sample was taken from car number 07.
The results of fuel analyses show that the fuels were the same as ones, which had been approved for use by
the relevant competitors prior to the Event.
All the above items were found to be in conformity with 2007 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
The front tyres from set 1612 allocated to car number 16 have been found to be not marked by the tyre
supplier in accordance with Article 25.1 b) of the 2007 FIA Formula One Sporting Regulation. I am referring
this matter to the stewards for their consideration.

The thickness of the brake discs of all cars taking part in the qualifying session was checked.
During the qualifying practice session:

The chassis identification transponders have been confirmed for the top ten cars.
Car numbers 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09, 10, 12 and 16 were checked for the following:

2) Front wing height and overhang
3) Rear wing height and overhang
4) Front and rear wing width
5) Rear wing configuration
6) Rear bodywork area
7) Rear winglet height
8) Stepped bottom
9) Diffuser height
10) Diffuser width
11) Overall height
12) Overall width

Ultrasonic thickness comparisons between the homologated side penetration panel and the car’s side wall
have been carried out on car numbers 02, 05 and 10.
Hardware identification checks have been carried out on car numbers 01, 02 and 05.
Software version checks have been carried out on car numbers 01 and 02.
Gear shift data checks have been carried out for car numbers 01, 02, 05, 06, 09, 10 and 21.
It was checked that all 22 cars did not exceed 19000 rpm during the qualifying practice session.
The fuel pressure of all 22 cars during the qualifying session was checked.
The tyres used by all drivers during the sessions today have been checked.
Fuel samples were taken from car numbers 05 and 12.
All the fuel samples have been checked for density and analysed by gas chromatography.
The results of fuel analyses show that the fuels were the same as ones, which had been approved for use by
the relevant competitors prior to the Event.
All the above items were found to be in conformity with 2007 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.

Before the race:
Car numbers 02, 04, 05, 07 and 10 have been weighed.
A fuel sample was taken from the refuelling rig of car numbers 03 and 22 analysed during the race.
The following part has been replaced on the grid today with the approval of the FIA technical delegate, this
being in accordance with Article 34.1 of the 2007 Formula One Sporting Regulations:

On the grid it was checked that all cars had fitted their tyres when the 3-Minutes board was shown.

13) Overall width

The PRV of the engine cooling system of car numbers 01, 05 and 09 was checked

Software version checks have been carried out on car numbers 01 and 02.

The results of all the fuel analyses show that the fuels were the same as ones, which had been approved for
use by the relevant competitors prior to the Event.
All car weights and the items checked were found to be in conformity with the 2007 FIA Formula One
Technical Regulations.
