Maranello (Modena), 2nd October 2008 - On the upcoming weekend the
European division's of the Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge and the
Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy will be held at the Nurburgring - with
the fourth and sixth races respectively.
There will be four free practice sessions, but also the historical
single-seaters from Maranello's F1 Clienti department and the cars from
the exclusive FXX Programme.
In the European racing series the
German Bjiörn Grossmann leads the standings with 215 points, followed
by the Austrian Phillip Baron (210) and the Italian Max Blancardi
(208). The Englishman Michael Cantillon leads the standings amongst the
Gentlemen drivers of the Shell Cup with 202 points, ahead of the
Italian Walter Forer (160) and the Bulgarian Plamen Kralev (155).
The
event will start tomorrow with the first practice sessions and the
first qualifyings. On Saturday the last qualifyings will be held before
the first races of the European Pirelli Trophy, Shell Cup and Shell
Historic Challenge races; on Sunday the final races and nine free
practice sessions will be held with the F1 Clienti and the FXX cars:
amongst the client-test drivers Michael Schumacher will go on the track
behind the wheel of his FXX and, at the end of the session, with the
new California.
