Jan.20 (GMM) Now is not the time, but formula one can seriously
consider introducing annual team budget caps within two years, Renault
team boss Flavio Briatore said on Monday. The Italian is a staunch advocate of slashing the sport's high costs,
and at the launch of his team's 2009 contender in Portugal he agreed
that simply restricting budgets would be ideal.

Jan.20 (GMM) Chiefs at two formula one teams have confirmed their
belief that the current specification of Ferrari's new F60 single
seater is not legal. A German magazine on Monday said the newly launched car, which is being
tested alone at the Mugello circuit this week, features exterior rear
exhaust outlets that contravene the new technical regulations. |

Jan.19 (GMM) Ferrari's newly launched 2009 single seater, the F60, has
been declared "illegal" by a specialist German motoring publication. Auto Motor und Sport said the car, revealed last week at the Mugello
circuit in Italy, features rear exhaust outlets that contravene the
sweeping new technical regulations.

Jan.19 (GMM) Renault on Monday will reveal its 2009 car, a slightly
revised livery and a new sponsor in the form of the French oil company
Total. Those preparing for this week's test at the Portimao circuit on the
southern coast of Portugal have spotted the R29, featuring newly
red-painted rear wing endplates bearing the 'Total' logo, and less blue
than in the previous livery design, in the pit garage. |
